1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Goohom mobile application and website (“Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Use of the Platform
Goohom is a two-sided marketplace that connects Filipino households with independent, ID-verified home cleaning and beauty service providers. We are a marketplace platform and are not the employer of any provider, nor are we directly responsible for the services rendered by providers. You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the Philippines to create an account. A single account may hold both customer and provider roles.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. All activities that occur under your account are your responsibility. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. Accounts that accumulate three or more unresolved misconduct flags or fall below a 2.0 average rating may be auto-flagged for review and, where appropriate, suspended or banned.
4. Provider Approval & Verification
To list services on the Platform, every provider must complete onboarding, upload 1–2 valid Philippine government IDs, and wait for manual review by a Goohom superadmin. Only approved providers appear in search or are eligible to apply for jobs. Rejected applications include a reason; resubmissions are allowed after a 7-day cooldown. Provider ID images are stored in a private, encrypted bucket accessible only to superadmins via time-limited signed URLs and are automatically deleted within 30 days of approval or final rejection — only the verification status is retained. By submitting an application you consent to this handling, in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
5. Bookings, Payments & Escrow
All bookings are subject to provider availability and acceptance. Customers may pay via GCash, Maya, GrabPay, QR Ph, credit/debit card, or over-the-counter (7-Eleven, Bayad Center) through Xendit, or by cash declared in-app. Digital payments are held in escrow by the Platform until the provider marks the service complete and the customer either confirms release or the 24-hour dispute window closes.
Two customer-paid processing fees offset Xendit’s payment-processing cost — both shown transparently at checkout before you confirm, and separate from the provider commission:E-wallet (GCash, Maya, GrabPay, QR Ph): flat ₱15 per transaction.Credit / debit card: 3.2% + ₱10 per transaction (rounded to whole pesos).OTC (7-Eleven, Bayad Center) and cash declarations: no processing fee.
6. Platform Commission
Goohom charges a tiered commission:
8% on in-app digital payments (GCash, Maya, GrabPay, QR Ph, card, OTC via Xendit). The provider receives 92% of the booking total at escrow release.10% on off-platform payments — cash or direct e-wallet handed to the provider. The full amount is collected by the provider, and the 10% commission is logged as wallet debt collected at the next weekly settlement.
Providers carrying a negative wallet balance are blocked from applying to new jobs until they settle. Wallets are settled weekly on Sunday evening (Manila time) by sweep to the provider’s verified bank account.
7. Cancellations, Disputes & Refunds
Customers may cancel a booking free of charge up to 6 hours before the scheduled start time, while the booking is still in Open status and before payment is made.
After a provider marks a job complete, the customer has 24 hours to either tap “Confirm service done · Release” (which releases escrow immediately) or “Open a dispute” (which freezes escrow and stops auto-release). Customers who paid off-platform get the same 24-hour window via “Dispute this payment” once the provider confirms receipt. If the customer takes no action, escrow auto-releases at the 24-hour mark.
A Goohom admin resolves each dispute by either (a) refunding the customer — for digital payments, Xendit credits the original payment method, and if the provider was already paid out, the wallet credit is automatically reversed; (b) releasing escrow to the provider; or (c) closing the case without action. Every admin resolution is logged in our audit trail.
8. Provider Conduct & Ratings
Providers listed on Goohom have passed our verification process; however, we do not guarantee the quality, legality, or safety of any service. Customers are encouraged to review provider ratings and reviews before booking. Both parties may leave a 1–5 star rating and written review after a completed booking, and may flag misconduct. Repeat violations may result in suspension or permanent ban.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, harass or threaten other users or providers, manipulate reviews or ratings, or attempt to circumvent our payment system by dealing directly with providers outside the Platform.
9a. Off-Platform Circumvention
“Off-Platform Circumvention” means arranging, soliciting, or completing a service with a customer or provider you first connected with through Goohom outside of the Platform — including subsequent bookings, repeat services, or payments routed around our system. This applies to providers and customers alike and continues to apply after the first transaction.
Examples include: asking a customer to pay through GCash or cash without recording the booking on the Platform; sharing personal contact details to move chats off the Platform; or accepting a service from a Goohom-introduced provider arranged entirely through outside channels.
Confirmed Off-Platform Circumvention will be enforced as follows:
1st incident: written warning recorded against your account.2nd incident: 30-day suspension from the Platform.3rd incident: permanent deactivation of your account, and forfeiture of any pending wallet balance attributable to circumvented bookings, subject to applicable Philippine consumer-protection limits.
Goohom reserves the right to recover unpaid platform commission as a debt and to pursue all remedies available under Philippine law. Enforcement action may be triggered by automatic detection (e.g. repeated contact-info redactions in chat) or by reports from other users.
10. In-App Chat & Communications
In-app chat between a customer and the accepted provider is unlocked the moment a booking is accepted and is secured by row-level access controls so messages are visible only to the booking participants and authorized Goohom staff for moderation, safety, and dispute review. Coordinating a booking outside of the Platform’s chat — including sharing personal contact details to move conversations off-Platform — may constitute Off-Platform Circumvention under §9a.
11. Promotional Vouchers (RETURN50)
From time to time, the Platform may surface re-engagement offers — for example, a ₱50-off “Welcome back” voucher (RETURN50) for customer-and-provider pairs that have not booked together in 60 or more days. Vouchers are non-transferable, hold no cash value, and are subject to caps disclosed in-app — currently one redemption per (customer, provider) pair per quarter. Goohom may modify or withdraw any promotional offer at any time.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including logos, design, and copy — is owned by Goohom and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any content without our written consent.
13. Limitation of Liability
Goohom shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes shall be resolved under Philippine jurisdiction.
